Position Summary

The R&D Engineer is involved in developing and qualifying products and processes from bench-top to scale-up and technical transfer from Research and Development to Production.


Essential Functions

  • Conduct thorough research on existing and new materials, methods, and principles for dietary supplement production
  • Evaluate new and existing ingredients, recommend and provide technical support to procurement in sourcing these materials
  • Assist with designing new products and processes to meet the needs of customers, or alter existing products to make improvements
  • Design and implement experiments, including scale-up trials
  • Assist with the design and update of material and product specifications
  • Conduct research and remain current on applicable technologies
  • Maintain and update records of formulation development and research projects
  • Ensure new formulas and formula changes are compatible with equipment

 Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, or related with minimum of 5 years working experience in a production environment that must include process development or research and development experience
  • Graduate degree with lesser experience is acceptable
